2013 (SGES)
A great opportunity to show bright young minds at Spring Garden Elementary School the world of structural bioinformatics. Steve Stinson and Zach Daniels did a great job presenting their work on the Leap Motion controller, which detects hand gestures to control a tool for visualizing protein structure and binding cavities. The Leap Motion controller is the black usb-drive sized device in front of the laptop that the students are gesturing over. Structural bioinformatics can indeed reach the third grade!
